He’s the perfect gentleman with a large side of goofball - meet Magnus, the gentle giant.

This boy is so well behaved he puts the Boy Scouts to shame. He is perfect as a companion, or just as happy to do his own thing while you are busy. Magnus is a gentle soul who just wants to please. Surprisingly, he is also the master of zoomies which is a sight to behold. You might say Magnus rests hard and plays hard. He walks perfectly on lead and is also fine in off-leash areas, although you will need to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t intimidate the smaller dogs. Magnus definitely does not realise his size, and when other dogs see 42 kg of prime beef zooming towards them they sometimes get frightened.

Magnus is a homebody who will not try to jump your fence or escape, but when in the yard he will bark at passing dogs if he can see them or if they are making a racket. His bark is actually deceptively menacing, so don’t expect anyone to be jumping your fence any time soon. He loves going on walks and he loves it when you arrive home - both these things will get his large frame excitedly wiggling in a way that was previously only considered possible by much smaller dogs.

Magnus would be fine for a family with children older than 7. He would be a great only dog, he is social with other dogs but at home he likes to be the king. If you have a pool Magnus will think he’s died and gone to Heaven, although it is probably not wise for children to swim with him because of his size and propensity to follow you around the pool batting you with his giant paws. Magnus loves cats and is very gentle with them. He will even assist them with their grooming if allowed!
