About Bonnie
BONNIE #2727 - black and white border collie X - came into care from Bega Valley Council Pound 3 weeks ago. She was surrendered because the owners were moving into a caravan & couldn't take Bonnie with them. Bonnie had spent a lot of time on a chain & hadn't been taken for walks or socialised with dogs out of her yard before she came into care although there were 2 small dogs living with her. Out of her yard she lacks confidence but is getting better. She now enjoys a 5km walk each morning & sometimes another shorter walk in the afternoon. Bonnie doesn't like dogs or people that run towards her or the postie's bike coming towards her so she will need more gentle exposure to the things that she's only just learning about & reassurance that they won't harm her. We don't recommend her for a family with young children but teenagers who can respect her shyness & her need to learn that she's safe would become her close buddies. She just wants to be loved. Bonnie is desperately seeking love & attention. She likes to be near her human although she stays happily in the backyard for 4hrs now. She hasn't tried to escape but we recommend secure & fairly high fencing. Bonnie is slowly learning to play fetch with a soft toy & reminders to drop it. Bonnie likes meeting new people, travels well in the car & sits for food so she is easy to train. Bonnie doesn't bark when left at home alone. Bonnie does still need to be reminded to go outside for toileting but she is settled & good inside. She sleeps by herself but does like something soft to sleep.....don't we all!
She's now 6y7m, is chipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea, worm & tick treated plus vet checked.
