Hi everyone!
My name is Bluey, and it's lovely to meet you!
I am a sweet, gentle girl who had a really loving family, who sadly couldn't keep me. They rescued me from a council pound see, but the other dog in their home never warmed up to me. It wasn't my fault; I wanted to be friends - but she kept beating me up and they did allllllll the things you're meant to do in these situations but couldn't get it to work out. So, after a year of trying, it still wasn't working they decided it was for my own good that I be rehomed with a great rescue like Off The Chain.
Upon coming into OTC care, I immediately showed what a warm, gentle girl I am. I loved meeting the vet staff and all my rescue team; sneaking up for pats and sitting in any spare laps I could find. I am a very cuddly, loving girl and you can literally FEEL the love coming off me. I have a really gentle presence and light up the room.
I have lived with young human children, cats and chickens - and get along great with all! Of course my owners were very responsible and don't leave me unattended with them- but I wish them no harm and just happily trot around following them. I have lived both in town, and on acreage and don't mind either- as long I get let out to run, sniff and roll a few times a week, like all dogs should!
I like to hang out in the yard while you're at work, and prefer to have a dog friend for company. I love my toys, and made no attempt to escape my 1.5m fence. I am fully grown at just 17kg and I travel well in the car. I would fit into most homes and have a long happy life ahead of me.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.

NEED FLIGHTS?
1. Contact us for a quote via email or facebook, providing the following info.
- Your name
- The animal you are interested in
- How soon you would be able to adopt (as naturally their weight will increase with time)
- Which airport you would collect from
2. Once all of the above information is provided, we will gain a quote from JetPets, using our charity discount. Flights are generally from Brisbane or Toowoomba, QLD.
3. Once you receive your quote, if you'd like to proceed please put in your adoption application ASAP to make sure you don't miss out!
