About Lychee
"Oh hello there human!!! It is lovely to meet you. My name is Lychee and I am the cat you have been waiting for.
I came to the RSPCA as a stray. Sadly my old owners never came to collect me so now I am waiting for a new home to take me and love me and keep me safe and warm for the rest of my life.
Being a cat I do have a tendency to sleep a bit, although I do like to do that near my humans. I am a very clean cat and will do all of my bathing myself. I even use a litter tray so you don't have to wander the yard and pick up after me. Something important to know about me is that I have tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). This is a cat only disease which is very similar to HIV. Cats like me which are positive to FIV can live enjoy a good quality of life for a long time before the disease progresses. I am more vunerable to other diseases and as such should be kept indoor only to protect me from catching illnesses or from spreading FIV to other cats. FIV is not easily spread and the main way cats catch it is from bites from infected cats. If you do have other cats at home it is recommended that you take introductions very slowly and carefully to ensure we get along and do not fight. It would be best if I only go to a home with another FIV positive cat and that I remain an indoor only cat for life. The vets have noticed that I was not good at cleaning my teeth and that I have dental disease. This meant that I had tartar and gingivitis. To help me out they gave my teeth a good clean before I was made available for adoption. The good news is that this can be managed with a dental diet, dental chews and teeth brushing. It would be best if you get my teeth checked once a year by vets to see how I am going with keeping my teeth healthy and clean.
I would love a home where I could also have toys, a scratching post and most of all a human to love and purr for.
If you think you are up for adventures with a cat like me, talk to the staff about adopting me already.
Love Lychee xXx"
