About Blaze
Blaze will require:
- A home with no children and no cats or other small animals
- A home with a female dog of similar size and energy levels
- Daily walks, always on lead
- Ongoing obedience training
- A reasonable sized yard with grass areas for digging and an undercover area for shelter
- Fences and gates will need to be at least 6 foot high, secure and dig-proof
- Experience with a stubborn arctic breed dog is absolutely essential
Blaze is one lucky boy! Surrendered to the pound, he was due to be put down the following day but fortunately we managed to secure him a foster home just in time.
We have since gotten to know this cheeky young fella and and his funny little habits. Blaze was very wary of anyone touching him around his neck or putting anything on over his head, and he even struggled walking with a collar and leash. His foster carer has been working daily on getting him comfortable with this and he has improved massively. He can still get a bit scared about it sometimes, but this is happening less and less.
Blaze loves the company of other dogs similar to him that enjoy a bit of rough and tumble play. He’s still getting to understand and recognise dog body-language, but he will definitely thrive in a home with a playmate. Blaze has had success in his previous environment being bossy with people when he doesn’t want to do something, so he has been working hard on learning boundaries and is responding well to consistent, clear rules. For this reason, Blaze needs a home experienced with Arctic breeds and their stubbornness that knows how to continue working with him to set him up for success.
His new home must have a reasonable sized, secure yard, allow him access inside when people are not home, have no children, cats or other small pets, and have a commitment to ongoing training.
Blaze is not suited to rural properties, apartment living or properties with small outdoor spaces. He is not available for interstate adoption.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET ALL OF BLAZE'S REQUIREMENTS.
