About Maddox
Maddox is looking for a very particular person to adopt him. Maddox is not really like any cat we have had before. He doesn't get social queues from other cats so mostly they don't really want much to do with him and he is oblivious to that fact. Everybody is his friend and he will come up to anyone for a pat. He has no fear of anything. He will have to be an inside cat as he would have no concept of not just wandering away and never coming back. He is however leash trained and loves his walks lying down for a belly rub from every stranger he meets on the way.
He is almost what you would call a hyperactive cat and we have just started him on medication to see if we can tone that non stop energy down a tad. The vet has also recommended that he goes to a home where he will be mentally stimulated through training just like a dog rather than activity stimulated. He's a super fast learner and for someone with some experience training dogs he will be a fun challenge.
He is looking for a quiet home as he is stimulated enough without kids to play with and stir him up. He may actually be a good match for a patient cat friendly dog.
As part of the adoption process we will organise an appointment at our cost with our vet who specialises in animal behaviour to discuss how to best work with him and his special needs. He will have an ongoing medication cost of roughly $20 per month.
