About Mirriam
MIRRIAM is a highly affectionate, tricolour Mini Foxie Doxie (Mini Fox Terrier x Dachshund) born in October 2019.
A petite little girl, she weighs just 5.7 kgs.
Mini Foxie Doxies tend to be intelligent and loyal, determined and protective, and very sweet-natured with a twist of Terrier attitude...and Mirriam is no different.
She grew up in a loving country home and is accustomed to having ready access to her favourite people. She thrives on human company and interaction. She loves a cuddle on the lap and when it comes to bedtime, she has an expectation that she'll sleep on the bed, snuggled up with her humans.
A well-adjusted dog, Mirriam settled into her new foster home without missing a beat and certainly didn't go off her tucker. Energetic and playful, she also loves to snooze away on the couch or in her crate.
She is not an indiscriminate barker, but will sound the alarm if a stranger comes to the door. Her foster mum says she's a good little guard dog. Having grown up in the country, she hasn't met a lot of humans, so is understandably wary of strangers until she gets to know them. Mirriam has had little or no exposure to young children.
She grew up in a multi-dog household and has been exposed successfully to a range of other species, including cats, kangaroos and horses.
With a proper introduction, Mirriam is dog-friendly. However, we think she'd prefer to be an "only child" as she's inclined to be possessive of her humans.
She loves the camera and, as you can see, is very happy to pose for photos. She also likes ball play, but tends to run away with the ball in the hope you'll give chase.
To be happy and content, she needs to be an integral part of a dog-loving family. She is not suited to life in the backyard and is very much an inside-outside dog. She does NOT enjoy car rides.
We were told by her former owner that she is a bit of an escape artist, although we've seen no evidence of this trait. We were also told that she'll chase cars, but once again, we haven't seen this behaviour at all. Nevertheless, preference will be given to homes without children, as they may inadvertently leave a gate open.
She is desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated and her adoption fee is $1200.
SECURE FENCING is essential.
