About Kodah ~ 2.5yr Old Staffy X( On Trial 30/05/21)
Kodah is a 2.5-year-old happy and loving Staffy X. With his big smile and bundles of energy, he’s bound to make your day a little brighter. Kodah loves people, so much so that you might find him on your lap if he is given the chance! He is incredibly sweet and affectionate, showing love to his humans every chance he gets. If you are sitting down, he will often walk right up to you and plant his head on your leg for a pat. He is very energetic and can sometimes jump because he is so thrilled to see you, but he has shown a lot of improvement with some training. He is happy to lounge around with you when you are home and would love a family where he could be involved in all activities and adventures.
Kodah gets along well with other dogs, and is currently living happily alongside a large 1.5-year-old male GSD X Mastiff. When they play together, Kodah loves to wrestle, chase, and play tug-of-war. When meeting new dogs, Kodah can be very eager to play and might whine or pull in their direction. He still needs training with his recall abilities, when he is off lead.
Kodah is an active dog and requires a family with time to provide him with regular exercise, training and mental stimulation. Kodah has some basic obedience including sit and wait for dinner. He has also started learning how to heel and walk on a loose lead. Kodah is extremely food motivated and will be a very quick learner when trained by his new owner.
Kodah is allowed inside under supervision at his foster carer’s house, and has taken a liking to settling and sleeping in a large crate in the lounge room. He can get anxious if left outside by himself away from his humans. He is still learning some manners when indoors and can sometimes turn a shoe or sock into a chew toy if he is bored. He requires a home with Colorbond fencing 5-6ft, and a family who are willing to provide him a safe space and/or mental stimulation when left alone. He can be very persistent when wanting to play with a doggy friend and likes to be the dominant partner. Kodah would also be fine as an only dog. He is not tested with cats but does tolerate chickens without showing a chase instinct.
Kodah’s ideal family would have experience with staffies or other high energy breeds and understand the exercise and care they require. Kodah does require additional training and needs a family who will be able to consistently spend time working with him and providing him the love and care that he requires.
