About Torah ~LabX Springer Spaniel (On Trial 6/4/21)
Meet Torah, the 10 years young loving Labrador x Springer Spaniel.
Torah was surrendered due to no fault of her own as her owner was unable to continue caring for her. Since being in care Torah has had a few vet visits to assist with her fly bitten ears, an infection as well as ongoing incontinence. She is medicated twice daily with Propalinpropalin (a cost of around $100 every 3 months) for her incontinence at breakfast and at dinner. She also has a few lumps and fatty cysts not requiring surgery at this stage as stated by one of our vets.
Since coming into foster carer Torah has proved that she is a fast learner. She has learnt how to shake, wait (for her food as well as waiting to be invited inside), stop (when we approach a road and before we cross it), eat on command, on your bed and back back (to leave the area she has entered if she wasn’t allowed). She sleeps inside of a night on her bed and is toilet trained.
Torah is excited for her daily walks and she walks well on lead - like most dogs she gets excited when she steps outside but settles after a while. She just enjoys being able to sniff everything new. She could really go all day - sometimes we feel that she has the mind of a youngen but the body of an oldie! If you have a clam shell that is a bonus because without a doubt after every walk she will get in that pool!! She can get excited when she sees other dogs and can tend to pull. She has been friendly with all dogs she has met so far and is currently in care with a 4 year old male Kelpie x along with a 17 year old Jack Russel x who visits on a regular basis. She would love a backyard to roam in and play fetch. She is untested pocket pets and cats, however she has seen multiple cats on walks and most of the time walks straight pass.
Torah is outside during the day and is allowed inside when her humans are home. She has been left outside on her own while her foster brother stays inside at times and has not shown any signs of digging or jumping. She can cry occasionally if she is left out of activities. There is nothing more that Torah would love than to enjoy time with her humans. Her preference would be with people that are home more often than not and be able to provide the time, love and care she so lovingly deserves for the rest of her life.
