Pepi ~ 12yr Old Maltese X (On Trial 8/4/21)

Pepi is a handsome 12 yr old male Maltese X Shih Tzu. Pepi is looking for his forever home to live out his retirement years. He is a happy, playful, sweet boy who loves human company.

Pepi has a beautiful temperament but needs a patient family who will let him take his time
to settle into his new home and not rush him into new situations. Pepi is a little nervous of
new experiences such as travelling in a car, or going to new houses, but once he has bonded
with you, he will be your little shadow and comfortable to try new things with you.

Pepi enjoys short walks and he is excellent on the lead. He wasn’t socialised much as a
younger boy so is very afraid of other dogs. He barks at other dogs when he sees them and
becomes visibly scared. He needs a lot of reassurance in these instances. His foster mums
have been walking him on quieter streets because he loves to go out.

Pepi will need a family who understand this and are happy to take their time to get to know his limitations. Pepi’s favourite thing to do is play inside with his soft toys. He runs and chases his toys when you throw them and he loves to chew them. He has frequent active periods during the day – don’t be fooled by this boy’s age! Pepi can be left on his own at home for short periods of time but would love to be able to spend most of his time with his new family.

Pepi is an indoor dog that loves to sit next to you on the lounge and happily sleeps at the
bottom of his foster mum’s bed. Pepi has been known to be an escape artist in the past so a
secure yard is essential. When at home with his foster mums, Pepi is a quiet settled boy who
shows little reactivity to noise. Pepi will need a home where he is the only dog. He is not suitable for a home with young children. He has not been tested with cats. Pepi needs a moderately active family who can take him on walks and play with him every day.
Pepi is a healthy and happy boy with so much love to give. He will need grooming every 6-8 weeks, as his hair can become matted if not properly cared for.

Pepi's adoption fee is $300. This includes desexing, vaccinations and microchipping , he has also been treated for worms, fleas and ticks.
