Midori

If you are looking for the perfect farm companion then this social butterfly is your match! Midori is simply stunning to look at with her scruffy fur and beautiful eyes, but this girl offers so much more than her teddy bear looks. Midori just loves everyone and everything and is happiest when she is getting affection from her people.

She came into our care from a rural pound and what a country girl she is! She has been in foster care on acreage and loves the fresh air and freedom country life brings. She is brilliant with all livestock including chickens, ducks, goats and other native wildlife. This girl is just as friendly as they come and is great with the resident four dogs who are all different shapes and sizes.

Midori is a breeze to train and is now fully toilet trained, sleeps in a crate and is learning to walk nicely on leash. When she arrived into care, although she was a brilliant house mate she was quite unsettled for a couple of weeks and would be panting or restless if not in her crate or out and about doing things. She has now settled completely but due to this we feel suburban life might be too much for her and given she is so friendly with all livestock we feel this girl needs to stay in the country and we will be looking for a home on acreage because of this.

During her time in care Midori has been out on school pickups, to local ovals, the vet and other general outings. She has handled these adventures really well and in situations where she feels slightly insecure a reassuring cuddle and some guidance from her foster carer has seen her come out of her shell very quickly. Coming into care her gut health wasn’t great and her skin was quite dry and flaky. She has been transitioned to a raw diet and her upset stomach has all cleared up, so a good quality diet is a must for this girl.

We feel a home with another playful and confident dog would be great for Midori in her forever home, but she would also do fine in a home with no other dogs if there is someone home more often than not to fulfill her needs to company. We are looking for a country lifestyle with a family who will give her ample opportunities for socialisation and provide her with a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside of a night.
