Guess who’s back....back again....Shelby’s back....tell your friends 🎵 🎵

Some of you would remember me advertised previously, looking for a home ideally with another doggie friend....well, I’ve tried (I really have) to be the best boy I can living alongside another dog, but sadly that just doesn’t work for me 😢 I guess you could say, I’ve got ‘only dog syndrome’ and whilst I LOVE to socialise with other dogs when out and about, I just don’t like having to share my toys/food or the attention of my humans with another dog at home 😣

This means I am now looking for a place to call home where I will be your one and only furry friend (that includes no cats 🐈).....

So for those who don’t know me, my name is Shelby....I’m almost 4 years old and a Golden Retriever mix 💙 I’ve been living as an only dog (outdoor), BUT, I have proven to be an amazing indoor/outdoor doggie over the past few months and would love for my new family to allow that to continue 😉

I have energy to burn, so you MUST be prepared to walk/run me daily, whether that be alongside you on leash, adventures at the beach, or play dates with other dogs. This is not negotiable....I also need someone experienced with dogs (or better still, Retrievers) and someone who is willing to continue training (I could do with some more leash work), but am easier to walk using a Halti.

I’m a quick learner and will do my absolute best to please you, but I respond best to a soft training style and will listen and follow your instruction when asked. I’ve also been living with a special needs child for most of my life and am very gentle and respectful around him. I do get super excited when meeting new people (I just can’t help it), but will listen to you when told to settle down 😉

Once I’ve had a good walk/run, I’m actually a very relaxed boy who is fine hanging out with me, myself and I while you jump in the car and head off to work, shops or gym to do whatever it is you need to do. I’ll always be here to greet you when you get home 👍

So what’s my dream home?
I often imagine myself in a country setting, with lots of space and big verandah to sun bake on. Having the companionship of my people around would be THE BEST, but of course I understand you may have to go to work sometimes. I would love a family who enjoys the outdoors, going on adventures (with me of course) and laid back lifestyle. The ability to live both inside and outside (inside of a night) with the family and enjoying lots of cuddles and belly rubs! Of course I will need height appropriate fencing and enclosed yard to keep me safe, but I’m no escape artist or fence jumper.
