Abbie

*abbie is currently trialling her new home* abbie and sophie would have to be up there as two of the most gentle, sweet-natured dogs sarg has ever rescued from our local pound. Picked up by a local laws officer as they were wandering mildura’s streets the sister’s are now looking for a home of their own where they’ll be loved forever. Their carer affectionately calls them ‘the hairy bums’ because of their gorgeous blonde feathery curls which seem to grow longer around the back half of their bodies! both dogs enjoy being groomed and a regular brushing will stop their fur from becoming tangled and knotty. Neither one appears to lose much hair. Abbie is the slightly bigger one of the pair and she’s been doing a wonderful job of looking after poor sophie who’s had a nasty upper-respiratory infection she picked up at the pound which really knocked her around, though we’re happy to report she’s on the mend. Both abbie and sophie are great with other dogs - abbie even has a little crush on one of her carers shih tzu boys! they are good with children too though young, boisterous ones could be a bit overwhelming for these gentle-natured creatures. Neither are yappy or licky and if they do jump up for a pat they’re so soft about it. Both girls are toilet trained and have lovely manners when indoors so would very much appreciate their inside / outside lifestyle continuing in their forever home. Neither dog appears to have ever walked on a lead before so we’re working on that by slowly building their confidence up. Abbie, in particular, is responding really well to her new name which we reckon suits her to a tee!
