About Alice
This lovely girl is Alice, and the first thing you will notice about her is that she is simply beautiful. But please look past her loveliness and have a good read of Alice's personality and needs, as she is a dog who needs a special home and won't suit just any household. We want to get it right for this sweet girl and think she deserves a family who can help her blossom into the carefree, happy dog she was meant to be.
Alice has one main goal in life, and that is to be as close to her human as possible, and do anything to make them happy. This does translate into her having quite a lot of separation anxiety currently, so she really requires a home where she is left alone very seldom and has human company pretty much all the time. She tends to be nervous of new people and situations which displays itself with barking and getting excited; however she settles quickly after the initial wariness. She is also worried at being told off, so tough love won't work with her: gentle and patient owners will get the best out of this sweet girl. She does enjoy dog company too - she especially likes to play and run around with her foster brother - although she can get jealous of the other dog getting attention: this is however manageable as she does listen when asked to settle.
She has met a young child and was very gentle with them, however being young she does have boisterous and bouncy moments.
Being a Kelpie, Alice of course has endless supplies of energy! She will need owners who enjoy exercise and plenty of it, and a large yard so she can stretch her legs and partake in her favourite game of chasing insects! She walks excellently on lead and is intelligent and responsive. She is however not ideal for running next to a bike as she's a bit too skittish. If left alone (preferably not!) Alice will tend to dig, however she only picks sandy places, so if you have a patch you can spare her, that should be ideal.
Alice is house trained and is not a fan of being put outside when her carer goes to work... apparently it's the end of the world for Alice! However once outside she is okay. She can also be a bit hard to get into the car sometimes - but again, is fine once in. This girl does have quite a few quirks, which her carer will happily chat to the right applicant about.
If you feel you can genuinely offer Alice the home she needs, ie one where she has company the majority of the time, lots of interaction and exercise, maybe an active and friendly doggy friend, and above all the commitment to understanding (and falling in love with!) her personalty and needs, then please fill in the SAFE Enquiry Adoption Form to apply:
