About Ash and Smokey
Smokey and Ash, sisters, were rescued from a street colony/community cats on the Fraser Coast in Queensland when they were only about eight weeks old. When they were rescued, both were very scared and frightened of everyone and everything, but they had each other, so are VERY bonded and, because of this, would need to find a home together.
Both girls stayed with me, their foster mum, from when they were rescued until approximately five months of age, when they went into the Our Vet adoption program. From here they were adopted but had to be returned, through no fault of their own, as the landlord changed their mind and decided they couldn’t stay. This is why they are being listed again in the hopes of finally finding their REAL furever home. It has been about four months, but both girls have come back to stay with me, their original foster mum, until this happens as they truly are very special girls who have stolen a piece of my heart.
Ash is very independent and is often off on her own, finding a quiet place to sleep. She has always been like this, right from little. She does seek me, her foster mum, out during the day (as they are allowed everywhere in the house) for pats and fuss. She has even come up for cuddles and snuggles when I rest on the bed or sit on the couch to watch TV. I think she will actually turn into a big snuggler given the time. She is fairly quiet, and it is rare to hear her meow, but she is finding her voice and I'm starting to hear her cutest little meow every once and a while. She isn’t big into toys, but she does love to chase the red laser dot.
Smokey is the play girl. She loves to have a play with toys and has the cutest meow-squeak when she sees you. She also has this VERY cute habit of often poking her tongue out, which she has done that right from a very young age. She isn’t really a cuddler – yet – but I think that is more so because she wants to play and investigate. She does like to sleep on my bed or on the cat beds around the house and also likes to know what you are doing around the house. She is very inquisitive. As said, she loves toys and especially loves ball toys that she can chase after. She loves getting the zoomies on.
These two girls have been through a LOT in their young lives and really deserve a person who can take the time to meet them even though they may be timid, may be shy, but, given time, will show their true colours, which are just beautiful. Once they know you, they are regular little cats. They have come so far in life and I truly hope they find a furever home where they can be given 100% the love they deserve.
Recommend someone who doesn’t have young children, has a quiet house, no dogs, and who will be patient to allow the girls time to settle in. Trust me, you won’t regret it as they are just gorgeous girls.
