About Tank
G'day the name is Tank,
Thought I'd just get my mates here at BARC to write a TAIL about me, because as you may notice when you meet me I don't have one of my own.
I am a 8 year old brindle and white boy who grew up in a blended family, my mum was a boxer and dad was the local stray stumpy tail cattle dog. We lived a tough existence, Dad was never home, always off chasing some tail, seeing as he also didn't have one of his own. Mum struggled to make ends meet with a growing pup to feed. I ran away from home to join the circus but never made it that far and instead found work at the local greyhound track where I licked the dishes of the Greyhounds who thought they were to good for such a task...
Eventually the track closed down and I was out on my rear, I begged on the streets for a while but with no tail to wag people often thought I was trying to scratch my butt rather than offer them a friendly greeting and as such I was no good at begging.
I did for a time love in a house with a hustle and bustle family who had some little kids, this was exciting to begin with but fast become a little to much for a dog like me. So now I am here at BARC ready to give it another go.
Ideally what I am looking for his a quiet home with either a single person or older couple who's birds have left the nest. A place on the couch or a comfy cushion at the end of the bed. A home that just wants a well behaved and sociable, gentle mate for companionship.
If you think I may be the dog you have been looking for to join your quiet little home please give the staff at BARC a tingle on the old mobile bone on 5441-2209 to arrange an appointment to meet with me.
If you've a tail to tell then I'm all ears, because remember I don't have much of my own....

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
