❄️👑 INTRODUCING IDUNA 👑❄️
Hi there, my name is Iduna... I know, it’s not a name you hear every day, but let me tell you how I got it. A few weeks after I was rescued from living on the streets and placed into foster care, I gave birth to seven beautiful babies.. on Christmas Eve! There was Anna and Elsa, Olaf and Sven... do you see where I’m going with this theme? Well, fun fact time... Anna and Elsa’s mum is called Queen Iduna... THAT’S ME! QUEEN IDUNA! 👑❄️
Nature
I have been in foster care for quite some time now, and boy, have I come a long way! When I first arrived here, I would refuse to let my foster mum near me and she sure as hell wasn’t allowed to touch me. Just between us, if she came too close to me, I used to hiss so loudly and suddenly that she would jump a mile then pretend she wasn’t scared... Those were the good old days! 😹
But no matter what, she didn’t give up on me! And eventually, her love thawed my frozen heart (see what I did there ❄️😝) She tells me multiple times a day just how much she loves me and now I am a real sweetheart! I won’t lie, I am still very cautious and jumpy, but I LOVE my foster mum. First thing in the morning I go and jump on her bed to say hello and get some good bum scratches. At night after the two small humans have gone to bed, I will chirp and lead her down the hallway because I know it’s time for cuddles in bed and that is when I’m at my most affectionate! If you give me lots of time to settle and get to know you, I could be your purrfect snuggle buddy!
I am a little head shy; meaning I get very scared if you go to touch me straight on my head, but once I know you’re someone I can trust, I’ll offer you my butt to scratch first and then I’m more than happy for you to work your way up and give me allll the body and head scratches... I’ll even flop over for a belly scratch!
I've come such a long way from the scaredy cat I once was, but as I do still startle easily, especially if I’m approached too fast, or I meet new people. But I'll just go off and hide for a little while until I feel brave enough to come back out. I will most likely regress a little going to my new home, but patience and persistence are key; I’ll soon come around!
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
If there's one thing I love more than butt scratches it's other cats! There's an older male cat and a 6-month-old female resident here in my foster home and I absolutely adore both! I watch them get pats from my foster mum which makes me brave so I run up for fusses too. I will need a friendly, confident kitty pal in my new home, but I cannot stand the small kittens so please none of those... raising seven kids will do that!
I currently live with two children in my foster home, they’re 4 and 8 years old. I mostly keep out of their way though - they're a bit too much for me. I think I’d much prefer a nice quiet home with other kitty friends, no young children or dogs please.
Likes / Dislikes
Have you heard of Dine Creamy Treats? They. Are. DELICIOUS!! I love that little tube of happiness! They played a huge part in learning to trust my foster mum, so much sure you have plenty on hand to win me over! I also get biscuits to graze on all day long, but I’m a bit of a fusspot when it comes to wet food, but I have recently discovered that I like the Purr pouches though! Mm, mmm!! Oh and I use my litter tray like a proper lady.
I also LOVE ping pong balls and toy mice! My foster mum packs them away in my toy box, then the next morning she finds them all over the house again, what can I say, I’m a playful girl (when no ones looking!).
I don’t like sudden movements, being approached too quickly, or being picked up.
Medical notes
My PURR-fect home is one with a friendly confident cat that will help me along the way (no kittens please!) and with an older family that has lots of time to spend with me without any expectations of me being a smoochy lap cat anytime soon. Oh, and lots and lots of hand-fed Dine creamy treats pawlease!
