Fletch is an easy-going fella looking for a warmhearted forever family that he can share his boundless amounts of love with.
Fletch’s favourite things in life are walks and most definitely food. Because of his obsession with food Fletch has been on strict portioning diet which he would benefit from continuing in his new forever home.
During his stay with his foster family he has learnt to use the doggie door to let himself in and out as he needs when somebody is at home.
While his foster family are at work he enjoys his time lazing around in the sun, chewing bones and catching scents in the air from around the neighbourhood.
When someone is home Fletch enjoys being in his humans company until it is bedtime where he currently goes outside to sleep. He is also capable of sleeping on his bed inside when preferred.
He is toilet trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out, making it easy for him to spend time inside with his humans.
As previously mentioned, food is probably his favourite thing. His foster family say he does ‘The Food Dance’ when preparing his dinner as he gets so excited and jumps around like a goof.
Fletch would love to be in a forever home where he could be walked most days. He will need a confident walker as he can get a bit excited and pull when he gets on a scent or sees another friend to be made. But with some constant walking practice and training on a good harness he will learn good walking behaviours.
He also doesn’t mind trip in the car, he will sit in the back seat and poke his nose out the window to catch all of the smells as he goes by.
Fletch is a pretty relaxed guy that likes to lay around the house but he does get in playful moods at times and will do zoomies around the house.
He is always happy and friendly when meeting new people, always giving them the intense sniff down to gather all the information he can.
Fletch is also very friendly and excited to meet other dogs. At times he can’t contain his excitement and can carry on a bit so will need a bit guidance in that behaviour and a bit more socialisation so he can learn the appropriate behaviours.
He has lived with a variety of other dogs previously and within foster care, he has also lived as an only dog. Fletch can be a bit much for quiet little dogs as he does get a bit overwhelming for them when excited.
He loves children and would be best with primary school age and up as he is large and sometimes doesn’t realise that.
Fletch would suit a family that walks often and is searching for a dog that is enthusiastic about that.
He would also love a new forever home where he is able to spend time inside with his forever family as he does love a cuddle.
