About Arlo
Arlo is a gorgeous boof head - we mean that in the nicest possible way! He is a handsome, clever young man who loves attention and spending time with his people.
A big fan of toys, food dispensing activities are his thing and will keep him entertained for hours. He loves to work his brain in this way, and it helps him to keep occupied and focus his energy on something productive. Walks are another of Arlo's favourite activities, where he will take any opportunity to sniff all the good smells around the neighbourhood. When he's not busy using up his energy, Arlo loves time inside lazing on the couch with his people. Butt rubs are his favourite, so extra points if you can provide these!
Still a playful young fella, Arlo can be over exuberant in his play at times, so it would be best that he finds a home with older children that he can't bowl over with love. Arlo responds very well to positive reinforcement training and loves to be rewarded for his good behaviour, and this is some training that older children will be able to participate in with him as well.
All of us need a helping hand sometimes, and Arlo is no exception. He's been spending time with a wonderful behaviour trainer (and still is) who has helped him navigate some challenges with his anxiety. Being an extra special dude, young Arlo takes behavioural medication that continues to be monitored with a behaviour vet and it is possible he may need this medication for the rest of his life.
The medication has made a huge difference to Arlo’s life and his behaviour which has been fantastic to see. He still has some challenges to work on and it's possible that he may never be comfortable in some situations. These challenges will be discussed with suitable interested parties and ongoing support from Arlo’s trainer will be provided to his new family.
Arlo is seeking an easy going, quiet home that can provide him with the safety, time and security that he need. Somewhere that doesn’t have lots of people coming and going would be wonderful to help him feel comfortable. Arlo would love somewhere with space to stretch his legs, treat toys to feast on, and will require a secure yard with no pool.
A little background on Arlo
Arlo was adopted as a clumsy, exuberant and goofy adolescent (9 months old). His family immediately engaged a qualified and experienced positive reinforcement trainer to help them to train Arlo and show them how to manage his exuberance and excitement. As the trainer worked with the Arlo and his family, it became apparent that there was more to some of his behaviours and that he was very worried little dog.
The family and trainer worked with a behaviour vet to diagnose Arlo’s anxiety and find the right medication to reduce this.
Arlo is now feeling much happier on medication and many of the anxious behaviours he was originally displaying having gone away. He is now looking for a wonderful family to live many happy years with.
Arlo is a handsome young man, however he does have some very specific rehoming requirements. Please ensure you can tick all these boxes before submitting an enquiry:
• Willing to work with Arlo's vet behaviourist/behaviour vet to manage and monitor behaviour medication
• No children in the home under 14yrs
• No small dogs or cats in the home
• Live within 2 hrs travel from Brisbane
• Willing to do multiple meet and greets in calm public spaces and your home
• Understand that Arlo is fearful and may never be comfortable in unfamiliar social situations
When enquiring about Arlo, you will be put in touch with his trainer who will be assisting with his adoption.
Medical notes
Arlo is currently taking medication for his anxiety that is monitored by a behaviour vet. It is possible he may require this medication for life.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of adoption fee. Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
