About Joey
My name is Joey but I am mostly called Jo-Jo. I am sleek and beautiful and rather athletic. My fur is black and very shiny and I have bright yellow eyes. I love to run and play with my kitten and cat friends until I get exhausted and then I find a bed or lounge chair to cuddle into and go to sleep. I love to sit on laps and I really enjoy being patted.
I do not like being on my own, so I am looking for a family with another cat or who will also be willing to adopt another cat for a companion for me, preferably my sweet brother who is also looking for a new home. I would be happiest if I can find a forever family who has someone who works from home or at least is home quite a bit. I spend a lot of time indoors where I sleep and have my meals. I like to sleep on the carer’s bed or close-by during the night.
I am not suitable for flat or unit living as I am used to being able to go outdoors whenever I feel like running or playing in the garden or just to enjoy being outside in the fresh air. I romp around inside the house as well as outside on the grass and run under and around the plants. I need a backyard to play in that is fenced to keep me safe away from dogs or anything that could harm me.
After I get over the shock of going to a new family, my gentle, sweet, kind and loving nature will make my new forever owner very happy.

Our animals are rescued from various pounds and shelters and placed in Foster Care until a permanent home can be found. Our volunteer Foster Carers are located throughout Sydney, Australia and are only too happy to assist you.
DCH Animal Adoptions relies solely on our adoption fees and the generous support of the community to continue our rescue work. Many times, we are faced with large veterinary bills due to the illness and injury that comes along with looking after pound rescues.
