About Sapphire ~ 2yr Old Greyhound(On Trial 23/4/21)
This gem is Sapphire, and she is a kind and gentle 2yo greyhound looking for her forever home!
Sapphire is an affectionate girl with lots of love to give. She has enjoyed the company of everyone that she has met and is happy to spend the day by your side. She loves playing fetch, running around in the backyard, and having a nice gentle walk around the neighbourhood. However, she spends most of the day lounging around!
Sapphire walks gently on the lead and does not pull at all. She has beautiful manners and does not jump, chew, or dig! She is a very behaved girl who is looking for a quiet home to relax in.
Sapphire is an ex-race dog and had a bit of a rough start to life. She has separation anxiety if she is left alone. She also becomes anxious when meeting other dogs for the first time. She is making significant progress but requires someone willing to put in the effort to help her through these troubles.
Sapphire is still learning to be toilet trained. She has picked up this skill very fast but still needs someone willing to continue her training.
Due to her history, Sapphire is not suitable for small dogs, cats, or pocket pets. She would be best suited to a family with adults or older children (12+) who understand that she needs a calm and quiet environment. It is important that Sapphire’s future family are home more often than not and are happy to leave her inside, safe and comfortable while working on her separation anxiety.
Sapphire is currently in foster care in Tighes Hill NSW (Suburb of Newcastle NSW). If you think you could be Sapphire’s perfect match or would like any more information about her, please contact Jayde at jaydefosterdog@gmail.com
You can also fill out an adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. Sapphire’s adoption fee is $300. She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. You can see all available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
