About Lottie
This darling girl is a whole lotta love – Lottie's friendly, gentle and has the loveliest silky fawn fur. She thrives on human engagement and just being with you. Lottie makes the most excellent sidekick and will happily join you on all your adventures.
Lottie loves long walks, but would be just as happy with a twice daily walk. Her zoomies are next-level and very quickly turn into play time with her canine companion. Afterwards, she’ll pancake and spend the next few hours snoozing.
Lottie has a touch of FOMO (fear of missing out). She’s curious by nature and will follow you like a greyhound-shaped shadow from room to room to make sure she isn’t missing out on anything exciting!
She’s a little magpie, she’ll steal footwear or cushions, not to chew on but to re-gift to you! When you come home, she’ll greet you with a smile! A big cheesy grin, showing you her cute little teeth when she’s excited.
Her confidence falters when she’s left alone, during her time as a Gumtree Greys foster, she’s shown separation behaviour when left alone or separated from her canine companion. Lottie is looking for a confident greyhound companion, and forever folks who are home more often than not. Part-time workers or working from home post-covid would be best. Lottie loves meeting new friends, she’s socialised well with children aged 12+ years, but hasn’t met any smaller children.
She loves the car and travels well with a fellow canine companion. She’s mastered the stairs, is the perfect house guest with her toilet training, and has excellent leash manners. Lottie doesn’t steal food and hasn’t counter-surfed, but if given the opportunity she may take up a new, delicious hobby. Lottie will require ongoing training and positive socialisation.
If you’ve been looking for a happy go-lucky sidekick, Lottie is looking for a life partner!

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
