Please meet CUSTER, a male Jack Russell terrier born on 11 October 2018.

True to his breed, Custer is a cheerful, robust and highly intelligent little dog with a love for human companionship. He is quick learner and eager to please.

An affectionate chap, Custer loves to sit on your lap for a cuddle or just snooze by your feet. He would be well suited to life as a companion dog for a single person or a couple without children.

He does not like to share the love of his human/s with children or other dogs, so is best suited to an adults-only home as an only dog. Having said that, he can be friendly with other dogs, as you can see from the photos in this profile; he just doesn't want them permanently in his home.

He has an unlimited appetite for play and games and is definitely not suited to a solitary or sedate lifestyle. To be content and well-adjusted, he needs plenty of exercise, stimulation and human company, although he doesn't really need to be taken for walks. He's happy to get his exercise at home. He is not an apartment dog and is definitely not suited to people who work full-time.

The hunting instinct of the Jack Russell is legendary. In Custer, this takes the form of chasing birds that have the audacity to land in "his" backyard. He has shown no inclination to dig, as many Jacks love to do.

A well-adjusted dog, he settled into his new foster home without missing a beat. Although we haven't exposed him to cats, it would be safe to say he's not cat-friendly.

His adoption fee is $950 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
