Meet Lennie, a lovely grey and white boy with the most beautiful green eyes!

Lennie was originally a stray Tom cat, but it only took one bowl of food from a human to see that Lennie was looking for a different life. And as much as he loved the food (and he does LOVE his food), he was also affectionate from the start, rubbing against legs and always happy for pats, he soon took to sleeping outside the house constantly and even attempting to play when the owners were doing the gardening (although he wasn’t quite sure how to!). He was also very curious about coming in the house, although too much exploration was a little scary, and he would ultimately rush out again.

That is where Heart and Soul stepped in, and helped rescue Lennie from the streets. Now he is de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped and living in the home of the humans who started feeding him. He has adapted remarkably well to being inside, and absolutely loves sleeping in his bed, or any kind of box or shelf where he has a roof over his head, and is happy to sleep a lot during the day. He craves affection, and absolutely loves pats and brushes all around his face, neck and back with a cat brush (although he is still a little sensitive about his paws or stomach being touched).

He can get restless though, and would benefit from a home with several different people to play with him. His hunting instincts are still quite strong, so a wand with something fluffy on the end that he can chase is his favourite game. He may get a little carried away at times, and decide your hand or legs is something he might also like to grab hold of. But a swift ‘no’ and some patience will set him right. He also quite likes searching for biscuits or other treats hidden around the room. He loves scratching his claws, and would also benefit from a strong scratching post.

He has mastered the litter tray very quickly. Weighing in at 5.5kg he is a big boy, and quite strong when he wants to be, so he would be more suitable for a mature family with teenagers, rather than young children. He has had some interaction with a female cat, but only through a screen door, but he did seem fairly calm and tolerant. So he may be suitable to live with another FIV positive cat with the right introductions.
