Petunia is a sweet sweet girl with an abundance of energy. She’s on the lookout for her other half - a person she can call all her own. During her time in foster care she has learnt to play with other dogs of all different breeds and ages, including sleeping and eating with them all, which is a huge change for her. She also very quickly bonded to the mum of the foster family, and loves nothing more than laying close to her wherever she is and whatever she’s doing!

She loves walks - we’ve been working on correction while pulling, but at only 13kg she’s really not hard work. Sits beautifully to cross the roads, and for treats/food. She loves to run around in the garden, and will test your fences if you leave her outside alone - but her house manners are impeccable so there wouldn’t be a need for that. Slightly ball-throwing-obsessed, she only gets this for a short period each day as she can get anxious and too focussed - everything in moderation for our girl😉

Cats and pocket pets are an absolute no-no - see above for obsessive behaviour. She desperately wants to chase them, along with any birds or flies - she can catch a fly in midair. In fact, we think she’d excel at ultimate frisbee! She’d benefit massively from obedience training, and we think could excel at agility training. Still slightly nervous (but improving every day), especially around quick movements, means that any applicants with children would have to be very dog savvy to ensure a good fit.

Another dog could work very well for Petunia, as she has discovered that they can be great friends. But it wouldn’t be necessary, as long as she had a family that would include her in their life fully - no leaving alone in the yard for massive lengths of time, or she’ll soon escape to try and find you. If you’re looking for intelligent, active, loving and loyal, then Petunia might just be the girl for you.
