About Poppy
Hi my name is Poppy and I love to snuggle!
I'm sure you've met other dogs that love to snuggle before, but they have nothing on me! I can actually be quite stubborn about it... I am lucky enough to be allowed to jump into my carer's bed after I go toilet in the morning but when the others get up for breakfast, I just stay in bed. Who needs food when you can snuggle in a nice warm bed!
When I'm not snuggling or sleeping (hey, I'm a growing pup, I need my zzzz's!), I love to play. I love to zoom, wrestle and to play tug. I'm not afraid to play with my much bigger foster siblings either.
I am not going to grow as big as my cheeky brothers but I will still need a home with a yard where I will have room to play and stretch my legs.
I'm a quick learner and very eager to please. I already sit on command and am nearly there with wait/stay. I've mastered toilet training and will let you know when I need to go outside, but may have the odd accident if you don't notice my cues to go out. I've learnt to sleep through the night in my crate (although I've been a bit lonely in there since my brother got adopted), and will let you know when I need to get up to go to the toilet in the morning (followed by my favourite morning bed hogging).
I can be a bit hesitant to meet new dogs and need a bit of reassurance that they're okay. Once I'm sure that I'm safe, I love to play with new friends.
I love spending time with my doggy pals and I am always happy to have company. I will be a great match for a desexed MALE dog who is looking for a cute little sister. I love companionship and won't really be happy as an only dog.
I'm still a typical puppy that is still learning good manners. I still love to steal the occasional sock and will run away with it. I'm slowly learning what is okay and not okay to chew/play with, but am easily redirected to something that I am allowed to play with/chew.
I just want to find a family who will love me, let me love them and have a male doggy friend to zoom and wrestle with.
I am pretty bouncy and playful so a home with children over 8 years old will be best so I don't accidentally knock them over.
I have never met a cat so I would be best suited to a home with no cats so I don't come in and upset them with my inquisitive sniffing and chasing.
Currently in care in Ballarat.

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
