About Maggie ~ Cattle Dog x ~ On Trial 3/4/21
Maggie is a 6 month old Cattle Dog x who loves her people more than anything. Maggie is a typical excitable puppy, she will wriggle in excitement just with a look.
Maggie is a sweet and gentle girl who loves nothing more than a belly rub and to cuddle up to her humans. Being a pup she also enjoys standard puppy activities like chewing things, digging in the yard & destroying things that you leave for her to find!
Maggie came into care without basic commands however she has learnt many of the basics within days. She’s super smart and will thrive with a someone that has experience with the cattle breed and is committed to helping her develop further. Advanced training or agility type sports would be right up her alley.
Maggie hasn’t had much experience outside the yard - so she is learning that the big, wide world isn’t a scary place. She is learning to walk on lead and is doing very well. She can be a bit shy around new and busy areas and new people at first. However it doesn’t take long for her to show affection to new human friends - sitting at their feet for cuddles or a belly rub.
Maggie is currently living with two large male 4-5 year old Rottweilers who she gets along well with although they can’t really keep up with her puppy energy! Maggie would enjoy a friend a little bit more her own size and one that she can chase around (older dogs may find her play style a bit much!). She would also love to just be the centre of your attention and have plenty of opportunity for exercise and doggie socialization.
Maggie will need a medium-large yard with high fencing (6 foot) as she likes to jump up onto structures (tables/chairs/bbqs) to get a peek of what’s going on the other side! If there’s action to be had, she will try to join in even if that means climbing over.
Maggie would be best suited to an individual, couple or a family with no children under the age of 12 as she’s still a puppy who loves to jump when excited and demand all of your attention.
