Pretty Miss POCKET is a tricolour Kelpie, born 4 February 2018. She weighs 20 kgs.
True to the breed, Pocket is affectionate, mild-mannered, intelligent and trainable. She has a delightfully sweet temperament and, once bonded, will be your devoted companion for life.
Pocket just loves people. Although she enjoys the company of other dogs, humans are her first choice every time. Wherever you are, she wants to be there.
She grew up in a household where the dogs - and there were a good few of them - enjoyed all the privileges of the resident human, who just doted on them. Pocket was free to wander in and out of the house as it suited her. In the evening, she cuddled up with her human on the couch and slept in her bed at night.
Unlike most kelpies, this highly affectionate girl doesn't crave lots of exercise. Although she's happy to run around in the backyard with a canine pal, she's just as happy sitting at your feet or beside you on the lounge. She has never been walked on a lead, although being a clever kelpie girl, there's no doubt she'd learn to do so easily.
It's not surprising then that we want to find Pocket a home where she is an integral part of the family. She is not suited to life in the backyard and is very much an inside-outside dog. She thrives on human company and interaction and likes to sleep in the bedroom of her favourite human.
Pocket is dog-friendly and has been exposed successfully to a range of other species, including cats, kangaroos and horses. Having grown up in the country, she hasn't met a lot of humans, so it's important to know she can be a tad timid with strangers and will require a little time to settle into her new home and bond with her new family.
The ideal home for Pocket is one where her humans are home most of the time. She would make a loyal and devoted companion for a retired person or couple. She'd be just as happy in a single dog home as a multi-dog home, as long as her humans are there for her. She is cat-friendly.
Pocket is desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated and her adoption fee is $595.
