Hello, I'm Tonka! I am a chilled out, independent woman who loves a good cuddle and fine dining. Do you love me already? I knew you would.

I am a total beach babe and love to work on my tan down by the water. I hope my new human can appreciate this and give me a nice visit to the beach every now and then! I can't tell what part is better really, the car ride to the beach or the beach itself!

I do also enjoy going for a nice walk. I'm quite happy to greet other people on my walk, but I'm not overly interested in other dogs. A sniff is tolerable, but don't expect me to start braiding their hair and bonding over tennis balls, I'm not interested.

I'm slowly learning the art of playing with toys, and I've been finding it quite enjoyable. I do require some human assistance to get me into it though, so playing together is a must.

As mentioned, I'm quite the independent woman. I love being around my people, but I can handle it if you need to go out and can't take me with you. I'll find something to do while you're gone, I'll probably just relax and have a nap!

I'll protect your home with a good old warning growl if someone new approaches. It's all in jest, of course, as my real end goal is to get a pat from these people once I know they're up to scratch.

I think you should come down and meet me, you can only read so much about a lass like me, a cuddle and some bonding in person will have you eating out the plan of my paw.

Our dogs available for adoption are all living in private foster homes and are available for you to meet. By submitting an application we will be in contact with you.

Our adoption fee includes a general health check, flea and worming treatment, vaccination, microchipping and desexing. If the dog is too young for desexing, a voucher is provided. A 14 day adoption trial period is available when adopting an animal from BARRC.

Adoption fees are required to be paid in full before taking the animal onto trial.
