About Jake
Are you as needy as me? Do you need daily cuddles and a snuggle buddy? If you do – I’m your guy!
Hi I’m Jake, I am a gorgeous 5 year and nearly 8 month old Chihuahua who weighs a huge 2.8kgs :-)
(See that, I added my weight so you could work out whether or not I really could fit on your lap – but encase you weren’t sure the answer is yes I can – I can fit on your lap – on your legs, around your neck, at your back… do you get the hint – I like to snuggle!
My foster family have said that I love my humans and my fur siblings that are at my house – I told my foster mum I was going to put a few ‘conditions’ in – I’ve already discussed the lap business above but second condition is someone who is home more often than not. My dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body.
I am dog friendly and love to play (one of my fur sisters is a big dog but that doesn’t faze me), I am cat friendly and I am child friendly but don't really have much interest in them, and do not want to be carried around by children.
I am very much an inside dog – snoozing on the couch and sleeping on my human’s bed and I would very much like this to continue.
I am toilet trained and will let you know when I want to go outside but I'm also happy to use a dog door.
My foster mum says that whilst I am a Chihuahua I don’t show many of those characteristics – I am even pleasant when I got to the vets – she does say I’m funny when I see another dog thru the glass – that is when I am a big boy and sooo tough and I tell them ‘to come on come over here and say it’ – then they come over and I’m like ‘hey how are you I’m good watcha doing’ (oops I know that is bad of me)
My foster mums I’m just a happy little boy who loves a quiet life and a good spot on the couch with my humans – is that going to be something you can provide me?

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link
https://goo.gl/forms/PqpkCcE89ikDR2Lw1
Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby.
