About π Lumi π - Special Needs
Gazing into Lumi's wide limpid slightly wall-eyed baby blues you'd think you were staring at an angel and that is because you are. Partially blind and completely deaf and with extremely deformed back feet, Lumi has absolutely no issues getting around and is blissfully unaware of her limitations. Prepare yourself to be surprised when you inevitably spot her pretzled into teeny tiny nooks.
Lumi's favourite activity is to find a nice sunny spot on a bed/mantel piece/shelf/ledge to watch birds. This is endlessly entertaining as Lumi isn't able to hear herself chirp to the birds so it does sound much like the breakdown of a Korn song. Likely due to her being differently abled, Lumi is a very tactile cat. She moves from room to room by gently tapping her way against the walls to familiarise herself at first. Once she has the lay of the land, she is very confident getting around. Expect a life of endless headbutts, demanding morning cuddles and gentle face pats.
Lumi is funny, outgoing, snuggly and a total sass pants. She isn't keen on dogs but would be fine with cats who will respect her space and leave her be. She loves chin rubs, a blanket to nap on (this can be a tea towel that's fallen from the oven, clothes left on the bathroom floor or reusable face masks to name a few but in typical cat fashion will not accept an actual cat bed
Lumi is looking for a mature, routine based, single storey home. She is extremely well suited to apartment living and would make a wonderful companion for a professional or retired single or couple. Being a Scottish Fold, Lumi will inevitably develop arthritis and is susceptible to additional cartilage growth, as a result of the genetic defect that is so desirable to humans. Despite the disabilities purposely inflicted on her by her breeder, Lumi is a happy, playful girl with a love of life and we are looking for a home for her that is committed to her long term care, should she require regular pain relief or other medical intervention in the future for her purpose bred issues.
Lumi is in care in Fawkner
Medical notes
Lumi is completely deaf and has very limited sight. She also has severe deformities of her back feet as a result of unethical breeding. Lumi will need her nails trimmed regularly (ideally every 4 weeks) to prevent them from causing her discomfort.
Lumi goes to her new home desexed, microchipped, parasite treated and current in vaccinations.
