About Gidget
Our beautiful girl Gidget is looking for her forever home.
Gidget is a loyal, affectionate girl looking for a forever home to shower her in love and cuddles.
Being a bulldog well she is a bulldog lol – she has certain things she does not like – and she will tell you (please ensure to keep reading while some of this might sound too much – it’s really simple and small things and she is worth it!)
Gidget has a hate hate hate relationship with the vets – she can be a lovely bulldog who can walk into the clinic and be happy and then the switch flicks and Gidget becomes a scary Tasmanian Devil – she is of good health and has been checked by a vet however we would highly recommend having a vet who is familiar and comfortable treating her.
Gidget must be an only dog - while currently she is showing her manners when walking near other dogs etc Gidget is not keen on sharing her yard or her people - so Paw Prints Canine Rescue does require her to be an ONLY DOG (please don't apply if you have another dog or want to take Gidget to a dog park for social outings etc - this is not something that Gidget will be able to do).
Gidget is not a fan of having toys or food taken off when she is playing / eating but then can’t say I don’t blame her – I growl too when sometimes tries to take food of me.
Gidget is a beautiful girl who can not be rushed when meeting her – she needs that 15 minutes to warm up to you, get comfortable with you and allow her to come to you – after that she is a beautiful girl who loves her humans and just wants to be part of a family.
Gidget has had some past trauma in her life where if raising your hand over her head she will snap – this is something that startles her but not a hard thing to ensure not to be done to her.
Gidget is currently in care and her human works full time – Gidget will snooze and entertain herself while you are at work.
Due to Gidget being a bull of a bulldog we would recommend a home with children over the age of 13 who can understand she needs her space and to not try and put her in situations that she is not comfortable with.
Gidget is toilet trained and loves to sleep in her bed, on the couch or on your bed if she’s allowed.
Some musts:-
Gidget love to hang out with her humans and very much used to sleeping inside (remotes are made to turn the volume up to combat her snoring)
Being a bulldog they readily overheat and have breathing difficulties in hot weather, and they chill easily in cold temperatures so a home where there is air conditioning is a must.
While our little Gidget is a happy girl she may take a few days to settle into her new home so we do ask that her new family / person be mindful of this and be able to work with her to be settled and comfy.

If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.

Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
