About Mkuu
If there is a lap on offer, then that is where you are going to find Mkuu! He is such an affectionate puppy who loves cuddles and is an expert at signalling when he wants to be picked up or get into your lap. In fact, no day can start until he has had his cuddle session! After breakfast, Mkuu is off exploring the garden and playing. During the day, Mkuu is quite happy to find his own spot under the tree in the yard where he will roll around, chew on a toy, or just chill out watching the world go by.
Mkuu has been in care with another dog who he enjoys playing with. He is social with other dogs; however, he can be cautious and less confident when meeting new dogs. Mkuu is continuing to grow in confidence but it is extremely important that his new family have the skills and commitment to ensure that he gets ongoing positive socialisation with other friendly dogs. He is not ready to go to a dog park environment so will need play dates with appropriate doggy friends. It is expected that Mkuu will grow to be a large sized dog (around 25-30kg at a guess) and moderately active. He will require daily exercise as well as mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy.
Mkuu is a food motivated pup whose basic training is coming along well. During his time in foster care, he has learnt to sit, stay and walk on a lead. Mkuu will require significant ongoing training while he matures as he is a young pup with lots more to learn. His new family must be committed to his training and development. Puppy school will be a nice start, but he will need to engage in training classes beyond this as he will grow to be a large sized dog and need good manners. Training will also act to build the bond between him and his new owners so that he can be more confident in new situations and meeting new people. Like when meeting new dogs, strangers make him a little anxious and introductions to new people should be managed to ensure he is not overwhelmed. Mkuu’s toilet training is progressing well. He takes himself out through the doggy door most of the time, even in the middle of the night, but occasionally through the day there is the odd accident (particularly after a big nap).
We are looking for an experienced home for Mkuu where he will be a part of the family and provided with appropriate and positive social interactions with people and other dogs. Mkuu would be well suited to living with a more senior dog (over 8yo) who is calm and can act as a role model or as an only dog with someone around more often than not. We are not looking to rehome him with another young dog. Mkuu should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. He is young enough to be integrated into a home with other animals but would need proper introductions and guidance. Mkuu is best suited to an adult only home or with older children (15yo+) who can follow the training procedures.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
