Alfie and Missy

Before you apply, please know that these kids are active kids...please do not apply if you just want a cuddly pair of lounge-dwellers!! These pair love to have fun and activity.

Alfie is a chihuahua, 5 years old, and Missy is a shih tzu x approximately 12 years old

Our names are Missy and Alfie.
We have been best buddies for a while now. We have done lots of learning and growing over this time, and are now looking for a furever home together!
A calm, consistent home is what we would love most. We like to know that you're around and prefer if you're home with us, or if we are out with you.
Sometimes we forget our manners and can bark a lot if strange people come into our home. We don't mean to be difficult, but we have met lots of mean people in our lives and like to know our home is a safe space. Once we get to know friendly people, we settle quickly and enjoy cuddles from everyone. If you are a regular visitor we will greet you with excitement and demand cuddles.
We like a safe space to snuggle, sleep, eat our treats and just hang out. A crate or something similar in a quiet corner (boxed in) that always has an open door is just perfect for both of us. Most of the time we sleep together, but just like with you, we sometimes need a bit of alone time to unwind and chill out (especially Missy).
We enjoy routines in our home.
- We stay in our bed until Mum says “good morning” to us! Then we are very excited and get our morning snuggles.
- We take ourselves to bed when we are ready. We don't need to sleep in your room, as long as we are happy and have each other and a cosy spot.
Our favourite words are:
- Walk, use this one with caution as we get very excited. Visits to the park or sniffing our way around the block are our happiest activities.
- Din-Dins, we know it's time to come and sit down at our bowls for our breakfast or dinner when you call this one out!
- "who wants a treat?!", no explanation needed

Other words we know:
- Ah-Ah, we know we are doing something naughty and this will make us stop and look at you for directions to do the right thing.
- Sit, we both know this very well but sometimes don't listen!
We are experts with a doggy door, and will take ourselves outside to do our business.
Both of us understand babies and young children. We are very gentle with them when we interact, but generally we just give them their space (with the occasional lick of the toes to say hello!).
