Candy is a shy cat who is slowly gaining confidence. She’s a tiny panther who is very energetic and loves to play. She’s learning to sit on the couch rather than under it and will accept pats and head scratches but is still nervous about interactions.

Candy would suit a quiet home with someone willing to devote the time to building her confidence, playing, and in a house with room for her to do zoomies and burn energy. Candy lives with another cat in foster care and is engaging in wrestling play so would happily live with another young cat who likes this sort of play. She would annoy an older cat.

As Candy is shy, a video will give a good representation of her personality and meeting in person will involve looking at her in a hiding spot and not touching her. She will most likely hide for a few days to weeks when adopted and isn’t used to being picked up yet so please consider this and whether a shy cat on a journey to loving house cat, is right for you before applying.

Before applying to meet one of our cats, please ensure that
- you have the agreement of all members of the household to adopt a Cat
- you have your landlords permission to keep a pet. More information on what to do is available at https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting
- you have all the necessary bits and pieces to welcome your new family member, starting with a cat carrier to bring them home, a litter tray, litter, food and bowls as well as a bed, toys and scratchers
- you are ready to welcome them home NOW. We are unable to hold a cat for you if you are not ready to adopt.
