About Harley ~ 6yr Old Kelpie X(On Trial 2/4/21)
Harley is a very active female 6yo Kelpie X, on the larger end of medium (larger than a kelpie).
She has an excitable and loving personality that has a lot of energy when you first meet her but does calm down.
She would love a home where she will get a lot of attention and activity as her favourite game is chasy!
She will best suit an active family, couple or single willing to put the work in and to spend time with her, and be rewarded by lots of affection in return.
Harley currently spends most of her time outside but we’d like to see her inside with her family when they are home, soaking up the love. Otherwise, she’d like to explore new things and find out what she enjoys – balls? Toys? Water? The world is her oyster!
Harley has some good basic commands such as ‘down’ and ‘sit’, but she can have a tendency to jump up and say hi - so she could use some training on how to greet people politely! Her recall is quite good, but this will need to be taken slowly with a new owner.
Harley would be best as an only dog, or with a male dog, as she has gotten into some disagreements with other female dogs in the same yard. Out and about, she is not reactive to other dogs and invites them to play.
Harley currently lives with two small children and she is quite gentle and well behaved with them, but being that she is a bit jumpy, older kids may be best. Harley has never been exposed to cats or birds as far as the owner knows.
Harley is located in the Lake Macquarie area NSW (south of Newcastle NSW).
