About Pedro
My name is Pedro and I am a nine year old German Shepherd who ended in a local shelter and my owners never came to pick me up. I am a chilled out dog. So I am looking for a home that has owned German Shepherds before and understand my size.
Unfortunately I cannot go to a home with cats or pocket pets, and I would prefer to be an only dog as I love lots of cuddles.
I have had some basic training to walk well on a lead and be social with other dogs.
I am almost house trained and love nothing more then cuddling up with my family and watching tv.
I am looking for a family or couple who can take on the challenge of a large breed intelligent shepherd. I will need inclusion in the family home and be allowed to sleep inside on my doona bed. I will need a confident owner who understand the breed and have owned a shepherd or large breed dog recently.
Finally I will need further lead obedience training to refine my skills so looking for people willing to work with me and not expect “the perfect dog”.
If you are in in another state you will need to bring your family to meet me, and if for some reason I can't cope in your home you will need to bring me back to Oberon or Sydney.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about this Pet"
Medical notes
Pedro is microchipped, vaccinated and has been desexed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
