Jiji like her name sake is willing to be your partner in witchcraft or domestic duties. Once comfortable she purrs like there is no tomorrow and is easily mistaken for a small motor. Jiji is a vocal girl and is not shy about calling out and letting you know she wants your attention. Jiji will need a safe space to retreat as she sometimes wants to hide and a safe space will hopefully stop her from crawling into difficult spots so you don't need to move furniture or squeeze behind the fridge. Jiji still thinks she needs to scavenge for her food and can be food aggressive so she will need to be kept away from any packaged goods as she may chew straight into it and it will not be easy getting it back.
Jiji is an energetic and playful kitten who has progressed amazingly despite not having socialisation prior to January 8th. Jiji is becoming a very social and confident kitten who craves attention, however she is still handshy and uncomfortable with sudden movements especially when people are standing over her. Jiji will need a patient family to foster her confidence and continue to gain her trust. Jiji will need to be indoor only and all kids in the home cat savvy and 13+
Jiji is a medium-long haired kitten so she will need some additional grooming, this should include brushing and will need to continue into adult life to ensure her coat is free of snags and tangles. As she is a longer haired cat Jiji will be prone to hairballs more so than her short haired counterparts, so regular brushing will decrease the likelihood of any serious hairball related issues.
Jiji would best suit a home without a family dog but having a friendly cat would be a bonus. Since Jiji is still a little shy we feel children over the age of 10 years old would be best suited for her. She would not suit a home on her own for extended periods of time. Jiji must be an inside girl unless there is a secure cat enclosure.
Jiji is located in Maitland and patiently waiting for her forever home.
Please Note: Jiji can only be adopted in the Newcastle, Central Coast or Hunter area as will need desexing before she is 4 months old with a local DRN approved vet.
