About Scout ~ 6yr Old Pom x (On trial 23/2/21)
Introducing the luscious 6 year old Scout. This gorgeous little guy is a 6yr Old Pomeranian X Chihuahua. He has loads of personality and a few little quirks under his belt so please be sure to read Scout's listing carefully before applying.
Scout is a super snuggly little guy who absolutely adores a cuddle on the couch. He thoroughly enjoys getting out and about for a walk with his current foster family and loves to tussle and play with his favourite soft toys. Scout is fully housetrained with a doggy door and sleeps inside on his warm doggo bed in his foster families room. Scout's perfect forever family must allow Scout to come inside as he is accustomed to the high life and really loves your company. He is well trained and follows instructions very well. He knows to sit and wait for his dinner and is excellent with school aged children. Scout would not suit a home with young children who may not understand his cues when he needs some time out.
Unfortunately for Scout, he has endured some hard times throughout his life. For this reason, he has a number of quirks and traits that his new family must be aware of. Scout has a tendancy to always sit under tables and chairs and can react in a negative way when he feels threatened from above. He has growled once at his foster mum for being told to stop a certain behaviour (humping her male dog), but it was noted that this came from above him. When instructions are given at his level, he is far more willing to listen and not react unfavourably. It is super important that Scout's new family are aware of this little quirk and are willing to help Scout understand he is safe and loved.
Scout is also a little tubby under all that hair, so could benefit losing some weight. He has a stunning thick coat which will need regular brushing and maintenance.
He will bark at dogs he doesn’t know, but adores his current foster doggo family, so is fine after slow and proper introductions. Scout has also shown food aggression, its imperative that his new family understand this behaviour and are knowledgeable on how to supervise meal times. Once supervised, Scout peacefully and happily eats his meals with no issue.
Scout hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Ideally Scout would suit someone home mostly, someone experienced with his breed (think HRH),with a loving but we know who the boss is approach. He is a sensational little poochie who will make his new family so very happy.
