About Stephen ~ 9 w/o male kitten (on trial 5/2/21)
This cute little guy is Stephen and he is 9 weeks old. He maybe small in stature but he makes up for it with attitude.
Stephen came into care at 3 days old with his 2 siblings. They had been found alone and starving in an abandoned house until some police officers rescued them and took them to the local vet. Unfortunately they weren’t taking to bottle feeding and were at risk of dying so they were placed into care with a surrogate mum who took them on as her own.
Unfortunately Stephen has been diagnosed with Cerebellah Hypoplasia, a neurological disorder also known as Wobbly Cat Syndrome. Stephen’s case is mild with a slight head tremble, overstepping and a little uncoordinated at times other than that he is a healthy little boy. It is not progressive or contagious and kittens have a normal life expectancy.
For the first 6 weeks this tiny little bundle of fluff, was fed initially with a bottle and syringe then graduating to a spoon along with being fed by his surrogate mum. Now he eats independently with his siblings. Stephen doesn’t know he is different and it doesn’t cause him any pain. This disability hasn’t stopped this pocket rocket from achieving all the usual kitten milestones. Stephen loves to run, play and chase and he especially enjoys climbing the cat tower. He is brave and very courageous and a born leader. Stephen is a real purr machine especially after he has had dinner, and is content to snuggle down for a well deserved nap.
Occasionally, Stephen needs to be directed to his food, but once he has the scent, he’s an eating machine. He’s uses the litter tray successfully and is a very inquisitive bundle of energy. Stephen is dog and cat friendly after a slow introduction. Stephen needs a calm home where he is lavished with love and care, and after everything this precious little kitten has been through, he deserves the best life has to offer.
We should consider ourselves privileged to have this little guy in our life.
His adoption fee is $250 which covers flea and worming treatment whilst in care, microchipping, first vaccination and desexing at a local vet post-adoption.
PLEASE NOTE: Stephen is only available to a home in the Newcastle, Hunter, Central Coast area as he needs to be desexed at one of our local vets by the time he is 4 months old.
