About Nellie
PLEASE NOTE: Due to border closures we can only be adopted in NSW or ACT.
What could be more wonderful than having a loving and affectionate German Shepherd in your life?
Hello my name is Nellie and I’m looking for a home where I can play and be a big part of your life.
I'm very devoted and adoring of my humans and will thrive in a home where I am woven into the fabric of family life; sleeping inside, joining in daily activities and generally hanging out revelling in the company of my family.
You will never be short of admiration and affection with Nellie around and I am loyal and protective in a way that only a German Shepherd can be.
Being four years old, I'm well past the naughty puppy stage so your shoes will be safe. Instead, I'm calm, dignified and elegant!
I love going places and heading out for walks and if you're up for games, please count me in.
I have lots of energy still so would ideally be suited to new parents who like to keep active. With further training, I've got loads of potential as I can really want to make my people happy and be the best companion for you.
At the moment I'm living with children and should fit in well into a new home with little people who have been taught how to mingle with large dogs.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd and have previously cared for a German Shepherd, or similar large dog, please consider how much brighter your mornings would be if you were waking up to Nellie’s big smiles and zest for life.
If you think you can give Nellie a loving home please contact by selecting "Enquire about Nellie".
Medical notes
Nellie is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated. She will be bathed before going to her new home.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
