About Queen Effie Unroula
Effie came into care pregnant and very suspicious of humans. She raised her kittens, who have all been adopted, and has slowly started to become more trusting of her foster carers. She is still a bit skittish, so a very quiet house with no children is essential!
Effie is very much a cat who will only accept affection on her terms. You must sit and wait for her to come to you, and stare intently at you, at which point she will let you do head scritches, and once she is happy with that, let you scritch down her back to the base of her tail.
She is happy to be around other cats, although it can take her a couple of weeks to get used to them. She very much prefers younger, less playful male cats. She tend to be less affectionate with humans when there are other cats around. She is also quite happy to be an only cat.
Effie isn't super playful, but will have a bit of a jog around the room and play with her mouse toy on her own - no assistance from humans needed! She also loves chasing her tail around, but gets a bit embarrassed if she realised that you have seen her do it. She also enjoys laying in the sun and watching the world outside of the window. If you're looking for a lovely low maintenance feline companion, Effie is the girl for you - submit an enquiry now!
Effie is a healthy cat who has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #953010004566680 source #RE101165). She is available for adoption right now!
------------------------------------------------------
To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
