Iago Smooch

Iago is a fluffy black smoocher. He is a bit shy to begin with, but rapidly warms up to new humans, especially if they give him food. He loves getting head scritches and could happily enjoy head massages all day. He is a little more cautious about people touching/ playing with his tail. He also will snuggle up to his foster carers feet and legs using them as a pillow. He is less keen on sitting on people's laps.

Iago also loves to play! His favorite toys are dangly toys and the wheels on his foster carers suitcase (especially at 5am...). He has a lot of energy, and is very social once he gets to know other cats, so he will need to go to a home with another playful young cat or kitten. If you are keen on him but don't have a cat at home, we could also match him up with another one of our lovely cats or kittens! He is still learning to respect other cats' boundaries, so his new kitty siblings will need to be playful and happy to let him know when they've had enough.

Iago has an annoying habit of biting his foster carer to get her attention or when he doesn't think that playtime should be over. We have been working on this, and during his two weeks with us he has improved a lot, but homes with small children would not suit Iago.

To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
