About Remy - Located in Preston
Remy is a straightforward, no fuss type of guy who is companionable but not demanding. He confidently comes to announce that it is time to eat, to play, or to welcome you home from work. If working from home, he like to keep you company. He might supervise you from next to the keyboard, but he know his limits and doesn’t insist on doing the typing or chairing your meetings, and will keep the chair warm if you get up.
One of five siblings, Remy was in the centre of all the games but is now by he is by himself. His hobbies include playing hockey with milk bottle lids, shells, buttons, pens, or anything else that can be scooted and spun across the floor. He will tap on your leg as a signal to get out a pom-pom-on-string or wand toy when he wants a bit of wrestling and leaping about. Zooming across the room and leaping onto an available lap is another way to burn off some energy. For relaxation, Remy likes to sit in the bath or hand basin. At any time, he is happy to sit on your lap or lie beside you when you sleep.
Remy is a purrer but not much of a talker, preferring to tap you for attention or to gaze into your eyes. His calm nature could suit a family or a single but he is used to company. He can spend long sessions on the window sill, watching the world go by. If alone for more than a few hours, he will run and greet you at the door and demand attention to make up for lost “together time”.
Before applying to meet one of our cats, please ensure that
- you have the agreement of all members of the household to adopt a Cat
- you have your landlords permission to keep a pet. More information on what to do is available at https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting
- you have all the necessary bits and pieces to welcome your new family member, starting with a cat carrier to bring them home, a litter tray, litter, food and bowls as well as a bed, toys and scratchers
- you are ready to welcome them home NOW. We are unable to hold a cat for you if you are not ready to adopt.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care. No health issues unless listed below.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
