About Gomez ~ 1.5yr Old Staffy X(On Trial 02/05/21)
This is the most loveable goofy Gomez. He also answers to Gomey, Gizmo, or Gummy. But, knowing Gomez, he would very quickly answer to any name his favourite person called him. He is a love bug. Eager to please, he is a very good boy and follows commands with ease.
Gomez is only a year and a half old. Still a puppy, he enjoys a good game of tug, and will chase a ball (but bringing it back unchewed is still too much to ask apparently). He’s a strong boy, with a play growl that might scare children, but he means no harm. He also has a very loud bark, but luckily, he rarely uses it. At his foster home, Gomez has settled very quickly. He has found himself a job – keeping the bird out of the gardens, and he does it very well indeed.
This boy knows all of his basic commands, does not scoff his food, and walks on the harness/lead like a pro. Other dogs and cats don’t seem to worry him. While out walking, he can be called off when he shows too much interest. Where he is currently, he can see the world go by from the verandah, and so far, only the postie go-cart has bothered him, because he has never seen one before.
Gomez has quickly learned that his foster mum gives great cuddles, which he has started to look for at times, but his most favourite humans are male. This is a boy’s boy; a man’s man. He needs a dad. Gomez, despite his size, is suitable for families ranging from one single man (aged late teens to late 90’s) to a large family with teenagers and older.
As long as you can confidently walk and play tug, you could be his dream person/family. With ongoing commitment to training, we think this boy could easily become a site foreman or line referee or running mate or garden guru – anything you need him to be. Inside, he is quiet and loves to fall asleep in front of the T.V. He is fascinated by the sights and smells of the kitchen. He sits back and watches while we cook and do the dishes. He could easily reach the benches, but he doesn’t try and he doesn’t beg.
We allow Gomez to sleep inside at night. He has a bed in the loungeroom, which he sends himself to as the sun goes down. He sleeps really well, all night long; he does not snore! Yes, he is housetrained. Storms don’t seem to worry him. He is a well-balanced good boy!
Gomez needs another medium/large size sibling as he thrives having a friend to play and be around with.
He has apparently shown signs of separation anxiety in the past. Gomez’ foster family are home based, so we haven’t seen any signs of this yet. We note that he gets super happy when someone returns home, even if they have only been gone for a few minutes. Like all good homes, he will need 6-foot fences to keep him safe.
If you love the outdoors and are looking for a companion to share your adventures, then Gomez is your man! His amazing smile will light up your day and his loving, loyal nature will make him a great addition to any family so if you think Gomez is your perfect match, you can contact Kath at fosterdog@guv.id.au
