About Blitzen
I was surrendered to Lort Smith with my litter mates as we were from an unexpected pregnancy.
My parents are both mixed with large dog breeds, so I think I will take after them and grow into a big strong boy!
My new carers will need to be patient with me, as I am just a pup and have not had much experience with the big wide world, and continue with ongoing controlled and positive socialisation, exposure to new environments and exploring the unknown.
I would love to go to a home with a calm and confident dog, that is of similar size and between the ages of 18 months old and 7 years old, a friend that can show me the ropes of what is appropriate ways in which to interact with other canines.
I am playful, active, intelligent and an extremely loving pup and would love my new carers to be able to take me to puppy school and to ongoing obedience training, so I can continue to learn and build confidence. This will help me on my way to becoming a well-rounded and confident dog.
I am a pretty active boy, so I will need a family that will be able to keep up with me and be able to provide daily activity and mental enrichment.
I am currently in foster care, and whilst here, my foster carer has caught me out a few times digging in the garden and destroying trees, this is only when I am very bored or anxious. My new family will have to be aware of this and provide me with different places where I am allowed to dig i.e; shell pool with dirt and/or sand etc.
I can go to a home with older children (10+) that will be able to be involved within training and socialising me. Please bare in mind that I will grow much bigger and this is why it’s so important for me to learn manners whilst I am young, so it prevents me from unintentionally knocking over or hurting little ones.
If you think I sound like a perfect fit for you, please contact the Lort Smith Adoption Hub - I have a feeling I’m going to be a very popular pup!
