About Indiana
Hi there, I'm Indiana!
I'm a super sweet girl who is sure to win hearts wherever I go. I'm not shy about asking for some affection and I'm happiest when I get to spend time with friends.
I'm living it up in foster care at the moment. I get along great with kids and I just love being part of a family, all the more love and attention for me! What do you think, could I be your number one gal?
A note from Indiana's foster family
Indiana is a delightful, affectionate, curious, communicative, intelligent dog with a mischievous personality. She likes to make her squeaky toys squeal, she is a zoomie enthusiast, enjoys sniffing out treats in the backyard, chasing a ball, neck rubs and ear tickles, having her pack (special people) around, digging in the garden, will lick the bowl clean if chicken or sardines are on the menu.
She loves going for walks but hearing dogs bark makes her anxious so she is likely to whimper or bark at the sound. However under the influence of BBQ chicken she can be helped to stay calm. Other dogs we avoid, give a wide berth and apply plenty of BBQ chicken as she barks and pulls on the lead if she sees them. Indie also barks at thunder.
Her routine on a good day is a walk early followed by a snooze and breakfast, more snoozing then when human school is done there tends to be some enrichment time searching for treats or zooming in the back yard. Dinner is followed by a late walk to try and avoid fellow walkers. If Indiana does get overwhelmed by meeting another dog we will avoid walks for a few days and instead focus on enrichment activities in the backyard.
If she believes her dinner is not being prioritised or is ready for walkies she will let you know by stealing a shoe or breaking into someone’s room to steal some treasure. She elegantly vogues through her naps (creative posing for those of you who don’t remember the 80’s) and submits to a deep sleep curled up in a peaceful place at the end of the day.
If you think you'd be interested in meeting me, fill out an application form and the volunteers at Greyhound Rescue will get on the case. Our matchmakers go to greyt lengths to match each hound with the right family to make sure everyone's happy, and you'll become part of a wonderful rescue community with lots of support along the way. Adoption details
All of Greyhound Rescue's adoption and foster placements are on a case-by-case basis. We go to great lengths to match each dog with their new family to make sure that both dog and family are happy. We offer post-adoption support to our rescue community so that each adoptive family and hound are cared for.
We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Greyhound Rescue's adoption fee is $420. All our hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and heartworm tested and treated. The adoption fee also includes our New Adopter Kit - collar, leash, muzzle and loads of other goodies to help you get your new hound settled into the family.
