About Lucky
*We ask that you please read the following description of Lucky and if you are interested in applying for him only do so with a thorough detailing of yourself and the home you are able to provide for him. Thank you.
Lucky is a bundle of joy, thriving on human and fellow canine companionship. Lucky has only been with us a short time but has certainly proved that small stature does not denote a small personality! A small breed dog, Lucky is certain to be a great dog for one fortunate home. He is very affectionate and adores joining his foster mum in everything she does. He isn’t a big ball or toy enthusiast which will mean socks, shoes and other household items are unlikely to catch his attention. Lucky is still learning the ropes and has a lot of room for development and we hope to find someone who is willing to help fashion his behaviours from occasionally bossy and borderline rude, to polite and patient. He has not been crate trained but feel this would be an important tool for his new owner to utilise.
In his current foster home Lucky has been housed with a Dalmatian who he is utterly besotted with. He adores his foster mum and is well behaved in the home. Though he has had some toilet training set backs in the move so we will need to reset and recommence toilet training in his new home. A doggy door would be ideal.
There are no cats in the household so we are uncertain how he would behave around them and therefore will be looking for a home without any resident felines.
In his previous home he lived with three children, and would get snappy with one of the children so are also looking for a home without children but would consider a home with children over the age of 12 who are dog savvy.
Trips to the vet are always a stressful event and it has been noted that Lucky gets quite stressed on his visits so his new owner would ideally work with their vet to make visits a less stressful experience for him in future.
Lucky needs some foundation training to help re-establish his boundaries and relationship with his owner so will insist that anyone interested in adopting Lucky take him back to obedience classes once he has settled.
We would be happy to answer any questions about Lucky and hope to be able to find him a wonderful new home. He will be available after the 8th of February after his grooming appointment.
