✨🐶 MEET RICK 🐶✨
Nature
I am a very loving, human-friendly, confident pup. I am absolutely full of personality. My family finds me quite funny - especially when I push dining table chairs out so that I can get up onto them and sit at the table like a human! I love meeting new people and I love going on adventures, although I can get a little car sick sometimes.
I’m house trained and have never had an accident in my foster home. I am starting to learn to sit when my foster mum tells me to, and we are working on some other cool tricks like laying down and stay. I still have a long way to go in terms of training. I have a strong pull on the lead that still needs some tweaking and I’m a bit over-excitable around people with a tendency to jump. I have a lot of potential when it comes to my training as I’m very intelligent and a quick learner, so a family dedicated to helping me learn and improve new skills would be awesome.
I need a family that will let me inside with them more so than not, and preferably a family who is home often as I get quite lonely. I have some minor behavioural issues such as barking if I’m left alone too long, and the usual puppy trait of shredding unattended items or digging holes when I’m left outside alone, but I will grow out of that with age and training as I’m still so young.
Companions (Dogs/Cats/Kids)
I really enjoy the company of other dogs, big and small. I previously lived with cats and they excite me a bit too much and I like to chase them around. I also don’t seem to really like them, so I need my forever home to have NO cats. I really love children, but I am a big dog and I am still learning not to jump on people out of excitement, so a home without very young children would be best - I would definitely love to live with some slightly older kids to play with though!
Likes/Dislikes
I love long works and I enjoy cuddling my humans, snoozing on the couch, joining in on dinner table conversations, and overall being a part of the family. I don’t like being left alone for long periods of time. I get quite sad and make my displeasure known with my deep bark. I would love a home where someone is home often to hang out with me. My favourite past time is to sleep under the cover of the back patio.
My perfect furever home is with someone who is home all day or most of the day at least. A family who will let me sleep inside with them on the bed, give me lots of attention, and continue my training. I need a back yard to call my own so it must be generous in size.
