About Honey
Hi! I’m Honey and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR HONEY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/NiSNhK92XKAmSn348
NOTE: You are unable to meet Honey until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Honey in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I have previously lived with young children
• I am very people orientated however am not fond of being picked up
• I enjoy the company of other dogs my own size but am NOT keen on bigger dogs
• No young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me.Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• I need to be the only dog at home, I get jealous and will pick fights. I am ok to socialize and be around other dogs when out & about on a walk, at the beach etc, however I am not interested in interacting with them
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to being bouncy
• No other dogs - I don't mind passing them and saying hi when out and about
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• I appear housetrained
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I know some basic training but will need further training
• I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be a bit bouncy - training should stop this
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull harder. A halti or harness may stop this
